Look no further for that chill adult ballet class you’ve been seeking! Elements of floor barre, standing barre, and center work are used to emphasize the foundations of good ballet technique while keeping it accessible to all regardless of level. This course is a great way to bring ballet into your life in a relaxed fashion while still practicing technique. Previous movement/dance experience is beneficial, but all levels are welcome. AuxWerks Rehearsal

AuxWerks Dance is a modern dance company in the Ann Arbor area focused on site-specific works and making dance more accessible. The group was founded on the idea that experimentation grounded in strong technique, with a healthy dose of quirky sensibility, can help to invigorate and expand dance audiences of all kinds. Anna McGarry

Anna received her early dance training at Meg Nutting's Studio, Dance Arts Academy and Ballet Etc, all in Traverse City, Michigan. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan. There she trained with Peter Sparling, Jessica Fogel, Gay Delanghe, and Bill DeYoung. She has also trained abroad with the Kyrgyz National Ballet and taught ballet at the Ak-Jol Children's Shelter in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Mrs. McGarry has performed with Company Dance Traverse, Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre, and the University Dance Company at University of Michigan. She has also performed in site specific works by Jessica Fogel at the Ann Arbor Arboretum and the Mathias Botanical Gardens. She has performed with Movement Artists' Guild including works by Suzanne Willet-Brooks and Shanna Daly.

Anna has been teaching dance for over fifteen years including modern, ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and creative movement. Anna has also trained in aerial arts including static trapeze, lyra, and hammock. She believes that every student should be given strong technique, an understanding of their art form, and the opportunity to discover their artistic expression. She lives in Clinton, Michigan with her husband and two sons.
